Therm + 200

Product Description

NewPro-Therm +200 is a special one-component covering coat based on modified hydrocarbon resin for high-temperature range, it is heat resistant between +150°C to +400°C. NewPro-Therm +200 is suitable as covering coat for hot pipework, chimneys, machinery and installations indoors.

Technical information

Density (DIN 53217/+20°C):
• ca. 0, 99 g/ml.

Solid body:
• Volume: ca. 43%.

VOC-Value:
• approx. 485 gr. /Ltr.

For further information see product data safety sheet.

Processing Instructions

Surface Pre-treatment: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and stable. Remove weathered, cracked and not completely adhering layers. If necessary use suitable primer according to tailored specifications. Blasted steel, degree of purity Sa 2 ½ (ISO). For smaller repairs also metallic pure ground steel suitable. Rework existing, strongly adhering old layers after appropriate surface treatment and check of adhesion/compatibility.

Note: The quality of the coating depends on various conditions, e.g. surface pre-treatment, weather conditions during application, precipitation hardening as well as diligence when processing and applying coating. The carrying capacity and adhesion of old coatings has to be checked in a test coating before applying product. Mixing instructionsNewPro-Therm +200 can be processed directly. If necessary dilute NewPro-Therm +200 in the ratio stated on the package with NewPro-SOL special dilution (spray dilution for synthetic resin coatings for selected products).

Application Instructions

Stir NewPro-Therm +200 before usage diligently using a suitable mechanical stirring gear. Equipment must be clean to avoid that even minor soiling or residual moisture on the equipment will impair the result of the application. Apply NewPro-Therm +200 using a brush, roller, airless sprayer or pressurized airless in the delivered viscosity. The advised dry layer thickness is 20 – 30 µm. If necessary dilute with NewPro-SOL special dilution (spray dilution for synthetic resin coatings for selected products). Mechanical processing: NewPro-Therm +200 can be processed with a conventional spray/airless equipment. Please observe the recommendations.

Pressure-nozzle:

  • injection pressure 3, 0-4, 0 BAR
  • Nozzle 1, 0 –1, 5 mm spray pessure
  • Spray / Airless Spray
  • pump compression 1: 60
  • injection pressure 100- 120 BAR
  • Nozzle 0, 18 –0, 23 mm

Note for mechanical processing: Arrange for dry air pressure while spraying. If necessary use water separator. Caution: Use in ventilated areas or outdoors only. Consumption:

  • Approx. 17, 2 m²/Ltr. at a dry layer thickness of 25 µn

These figures apply to spray application only. The exact consumption has to be calculated from a test application at the object.

Processing Conditions

Processing and desiccation can be done at a surface and environment temperature of min. +5°C and max. +30°C. Humidity should not exceed 85%. Observe dew-point. During desiccation, protect coat hull against rain and direct solar radiation.
Caution: Only use in ventilated areas or outdoors.

Conditions for Application

Desiccation time:

T [°C] min.    Intervall[h]
    +5°C              24 h
    +10°C            10 h
    +20°C             4 h
    +30°C             2 h

Desiccation time depends on temperature and relative humidity.

Cleaning of Tools:

  • Clean immediately with water, use detergent (cleaning agent) if necessary.

Quality of Coating:

The quality of the coating depends on various conditions, e.g. surface pre-cleaning, weather conditions during application and desiccation, as well as diligence during preparation and application of the coating. High pressure cleaning will deliver best results according to DIN 55928, part 4 respectively DIN ISO 12944-4, standard grade of cleanliness SA 21/2. The carrying capacity and adhesion of old coating must be checked with a test coating. Remove weathered, cracked and not completely adhering coats before applying product. When using 2-pack products the hardener has to be added to the base in the correct mixing ratio. Base and hardener to be mixed carefully, preferably with mechanical equipment. After mixing fill product in an empty and clean pail and stir again. Use only clean equipment. Also small contaminations and remaining humidity on the equipment may influence the result negatively. Generally, product should be stirred carefully with mechanical equipment before use. Equipment must be clean to avoid that even minor soiling or residual moisture on the equipment will impair the result of the application. Arrange for dry air pressure while gun spraying. If necessary use water separator.
