NewPro Nano Universal RK Stone for Absorbent / „Soft“ Surfaces (Textiles, Stone, Wood)

Product Description:

NewPro Nano Universal RK Stone is a watery solution for absorbent or „soft" surfaces, providing very good hydrophobic (Water repellent) and oleophobic properties to the treated surfaces. The product forms a practically invisible, thin surface film. Due to the hydrophobic effect, the humidity penetration speed and re-contamination of the treated surfaces is reduced considerably. The penetration of oil and colouring substances into the surface is reduced and allows an easy removal and cleaning

Properties

• Contains solvents (no water), no formation of silicon layers.
• Applicable in indoor and outdoor areas, optimal use on smooth and rough surfaces.
• The product can be sprayed onto large areas, time-saving application – no removal of residues.
• Penetrates up to 25mm into the stone (depending on the structure of the stone).
• The amount to be used per m² depends on the absorbency of the stone, about 8 – 14m² with a high absorbency rate and with a low absorbency rate (e.g. granite, tiles) approx. 20 – 50 m².
• Colourless, no negative effects to the appearance or consistence of the stone ,
• Sealed surfaces remain breathable.
• Resistant against frost, UV light (California Test – 24.000 hours or 5 years sunshine), salt (e.g. chloride), pollution, against higher ph-values which occur in stonework, environmental pollution, weathering and extremely resistant against abrasion.
• Water and contamination repellent, the coating considerably reduces the amount of humidity on the surface and thereby minimises the growth of mould, moss and algae as well as the discolouration caused by environmental contamination.
• Unsightly dark water stains are avoided.
• „Easy-to-Clean" effect, coated surfaces stay cleaner longer and are easier to clean.
• The product considerably lengthens the cleaning intervals and guarantees protection and improved appearance for many years.
• Pollution can be quickly removed with clear water.
• Best suited for swimming pools, as the product is resistant against chlorine and salt water, surfaces are no longer attacked or suffer colour changes.
• No damage by steam-cleaners, top rating in Europe for „ active gas permeability „, through this breathing activity, no subsurface humidity can develop.

• The thermal efficiency of walls is improved by the prevention of water penetration.
• The product can be used as part of a flood water protection system for buildings.
• It is highly effective as roof waterproofing.
• The product contains aromatic-free Naphtha; therefore liquids containing oils must be removed within a few minutes after contamination. The sealant is not permanently resistant against materials containing oils and for example fruit juices or red wine.

Application examples with approximate usage for each m²

• Concrete (without hybrid-concrete, which has more than 1% of acrylic compounds or to which similar plastic components have been added) approx. 10 – 30m² / litre, dependent on the density. It is recommended that a previous test is carried out for other compositions.
• Tiles, unglazed / open pores, approx. 20 – 40m² / litre
• Roof Tiles, approx. 15 – 25m² / litre
• Brickwork/masonry, approx. 20 – 30m² / litre
• Lime sandstone, approx. 15 – 25m² / litre
• Mineral plaster, approx. 15 – 30m² / litre
• Marble (polished), approx. 30 – 50m² / litre
• Granite (polished), approx. 40 – 70m² / litre
• Natural stone, approx. 10 – 30m² / litre
• Slate, approx. 15 – 30m² / litre. Slate becomes somewhat darker after application, oxidisation and abrasion are reduced and a „good-as-new" effect is achieved for a longer period of time.

Graffiti-Protection

Although the stone sealant has not been specifically developed for anti-Graffiti use, it does however offer these properties. It prevents the deep penetration of most graffiti paints and allows for a simple removal. The shadow formation is reduced considerably or removed.

Storage Stability
If the original container remains tightly closed, 6 months at 5°C – 25°C. Opened containers are to be used within a short time. The best-before date for each charge is noted on the product label. Storage beyond the best-before date does not necessarily mean that the goods are no longer usable. A test of the intended individual application purpose is essential and should be carried out to ensure continuing quality.

Handling

Please note the important references to handling and safety in the actual Data Safety Sheet. Care is to be taken during handling that the appropriate and suitable protective equipment and clothing are used. We recommend the use of a protective mask when spraying (e.g. Full-face mask from 3M Art. No. 6800S, with Particle Filter Protection Class P3 3M Art. No. 5935 and the active Filter Cartridge Protection Class A2 3M Art. No.06915)

Application:

Rubber Gloves should be worn during the application of NewPro Nano Universal RK Stone. Good ventilation must be ensured. Keep away from ignition sources.
In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
The application is carried out in three stages: 1. Cleaning, 2. Application, and 3. Drying.

Cleaning:

The surfaces must be thoroughly freed from dust, dirt, oil and grease impurities. The use of an abrasive cleaning agent (mild scouring agent) or light alkaline or acid tenside based cleaners. A test should be carried out to ensure compatibility and to avoid damage to the surfaces before using the aforementioned cleaners.
After cleaning, the surfaces have to be thoroughly rinsed with demineralised water to remove any remaining tensides and mineral salts. An indicator for a clean surface is the continuous layer coverage of clear rinse water.

Note: Do not use cleaners containing hydrophobic drying agents.

Application:

The coating is applied under normal temperature and humidity conditions by rubbing, alternatively by spraying, flooding or dipping the object into the coating solution.

Drying at room temperature:
Drying of the applied material is carried out under normal room temperature and humidity conditions for at least 5 – 30 min.

Usage:

Shake before use. Spray the product onto the surface so that a thin, even film forms. Avoid drop formation. If necessary remove excess liquid with a cloth or spread with a soft brush. Allow to dry at room temperature for at least 12 hours, at lower temperatures, up to 24 hours.

We recommend the wearing of rubber gloves.
